"As much as I love riding/racing/building drag and road racing motorcycles, I decided that after 18 years working in the motorcycle industry it was time for me to switch gears and do what I like the most, and that is to help others less fortunate, hence, my new fresh start adventure in life".
I’ve chosen social work,
primarily in the field of HIV/AIDS and have worked in this same field for the
past 15 years. Currently work at a local Health Center providing Pre and Post
Test HIV testing and counseling, finding/linking those patients who no longer
attend clinic to return to primary care. Also responsible for outreach in
targeted areas i.e. shooting galleries, street sex workers, to help locate and
identify people at high risk who are HIV positive and link them into treatment.
For four years I was Coordinator of HIV/AIDS Prevention and Education for two counties in my state. Facilitated HIV/AIDS diverse support groups within our agency, and coordinated HIV/AIDS peer training and education programs for high school students. As a volunteer counselor, for the past 15 years I have attended a one-week therapeutic and educational summer camp for children infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. Also volunteered at a correctional facility teaching English as a Second Language, and helped advocate/translate/counsel victims of sexual assault, domestic abuse at our local program.
Getting involved with both of those organizations, helping women victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault prompted me to volunteer work with abusive men. For quite a few years helped co-facilitate a Spanish speaking anger management group held at our health center. As of today, its still one of the most stressful and at the same time rewarding things I’ve ever done.

My uncle has done the same for many years. He worked with Mother Teresa in both India and Japan in various capacities. You have a lovely Professional blog but I don't think I would vlounteer to work with abusive men. Kudos to you, women are, as your blog states, Gods of War after all.
